Cloudflare Migration - Sure PALC Dec 7, 2024 09:00-09:30 EST
The following is an important message to all Sure Submission Gateway Customers from Insurity Customer Support.

Insurity is in the process of migrating all our existing web applications and application firewall systems to Cloudflare. We are now moving our production stack to Cloudflare. While we do not anticipate any disruption in service, we strongly recommend that you test any automated or integrated jobs on this environment. This change will take place on Saturday, December 7th and you may begin testing after 1pm EST.

Cloudflare provides security by protecting Internet properties from malicious activity like DDoS attacks, malicious bots, and other nefarious intrusions for web applications and apis. Cloudflare also provides a global content delivery network (CDN) with unique performance optimization capabilities: we cache static content, accelerate dynamic content, and make it easy to optimize outbound content.

Along with the security benefit that Cloudflare brings, they also provide universal SSL ability. This means that the certificate used by the browser is fully managed by Cloudflare. In the event you are “pinning” a certificate, please reach out to Insurity. Cloudflare does not and will not support certificate pinning as they rotate their certificates very frequently on an automatic basis and it’s unpredictable. This would for certain lead to outages if you were to attempt to continue this practice. Ref: https://developers.cloudflare.com/ssl/reference/certificate-pinning/

This message is intended for all Insurity Customers.

As we prepare for the last quarter of 2024, Insurity is providing this advance notice of the upcoming Production Change Freeze at the end of the year. These change freezes are a common operating procedure, implemented to minimize risk from production changes and/or reduced holiday period resource coverage during our customers’ critical year-end window.

Blackout Period Dates: Monday, December 16, 2024 through Sunday, January 5, 2025

Development changes permitted to Production during the blackout period:
1. Critical and High Severity changes (Severity 1 and Severity 2)
2. Patches for Showstopper and High Severity issues
3. Site Maintenance/Data Maintenance items that are low impacting changes and that have been reviewed and approved by Insurity.

Production changes that must wait post blackout period:
1. Service Releases (including BI releases, Integration/Interface Releases/changes)
2. Non-Programming Releases
3. Patches for Medium and Low Severity changes
4. Any other impactful configuration changes

Changes to lower environments are permitted during the blackout period but it is recommended to plan them in advance due to potential limited resource availability.
